• A:Answer It is a SSD (solid state drive) for starters, much faster and more expensive right off the bat than a HDD (hard disk drive). It is the official Xbox Series X/S SSD made by Seagate, it plugs directly into a slot on the back of the console made for this specific expansion card and it runs at the same speeds/levels as the internal SSD that comes with the console, so you are able to play Xbox Series X games directly from the expansion card. Xbox Series X games can only be played from a SSD (either the internal SSD or this expansion card) if you have any other SSD or HDD you’ll have to transfer games between the external SSD or HDD to the internal SSD to play them. The only games you can play off of an HDD or any other SSD (other than this expansion card) are previous generation games. (Original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One X). If you have any other type of SSD, the only real perk is that your games will transfer quicker between the internal SSD and the external SSD. The main reason that this is so expensive is because it is a SSD. If you look up SSD prices around the same range of memory, they will very likely be similar to this price point, some prices are starting to go down for SSDs, but I doubt this one will for a while.

Q: QuestionHOW MUCH REAL SPACE DO I GET? I've used Hard Drives in the past and even the Series X boasts that it has 1TB internal storage but after software yadda-yadda you only have like 825 GB. So, with this 2TB how much space am I actually getting 1.6 TB?

• A:Answer Some storage is always used for other needs by this kinda of tech. There is no memory card on the planet that doesn't dedicate a part of it to the operation of the tech. This can be understood with a quick google search. Just like everything sold in this world they round up or give you max specs/ averages with a disclaimer that actual size depends on factors they don't really talk about. There are different levels of quality that affects the tech as well so they use a general umbrella to advertise specs. Its expensive because of what is is. Normal memory cards and drives don't have the performance of this device. You get what you pay for.
