- Answer The USB 3.0 connection used is backwards compatible with USB 2.0, so can plug it into an older USB port. USB 3.0 is a much faster connection than 2.0 so you will limit the transfer speed of your files by the slowest connection point. Outside of speed there really is no meaningful difference.

Questioni have a rugged lacie seagate external hard drive & every time i try to transfer photos from my phone 13 with my computer to the hard drive or try connecting my iphone 13 directly to my hard drive, it doesnt work. will it be the same if i buy this drive?

- Answer Should have no issue connecting to a Mac computer. One thing to watch out for though is if its connected to another computer and then when plugged into your Mac you find you can only read and not write files to the drive, you need to look up the permissions in the Get Info menu to see if your account has full read/write access and potentially ignore ownership settings to have full access.
