• A:Answer No it is not. Although the Best Buy description currently indicates the power source is USB that is incorrect. I provided feedback on that so maybe they will fix it. The power source is the included 18W power adapter. If you look at the picture of the back of the drive you can see the USB port and the power adapter plug. From Seagate's website "Setup is straightforward; simply plug in the included power supply and USB cable, and you are ready to go."

• A:Answer There is no Ethernet port on the drive to directly attach to a network. You would need to connect it to a computer and then share the folder on the network to provide NAS-like services.

Q: QuestionCan this be used with a laptop to store photos and videos or does it need to be connected to a computer that is stationary? I need to find something that will store a few years worth of family photos and videos with my laptop still being portable.

• A:Answer You can use this with a Windows 10/11 laptop but keep in mind that it needs it's own power supply it doesn't use USB as the power source.

• A:Answer You could backup (or manually transfer) Your data, but only one at a time. If You wanted to do the automatic recovery/backup would be the same answer ... You would have to choose one Laptop. I don't believe they make a corded splitter or something along those lines to otherwise allow.
