• You will need to follow instructions provided by Sony. You'll need at least two hard drives, one to transfer game saves and the other for the PS3/PS4 software. Once you switch out the hard drive, you will need to plug in the USB drive with the software to install the operating software. You'll probably need internet too.

• No, the software do not come with the hard drive. You will have to go to the Sony / Playstation 4 website to down load the firmware to have it to update your hard drive. Also, you can check on Youtube to see how it done too.
