• They make WD Passports specifically for Macs, too, not just Windows-based PCs. I'd talk with the folks at Best Buy (and no, I don't work there LOL). They're very helpful and you can get set up with a good way to back up your new hard drive so you won't lose stuff if it ever crashes again... I always recommend doing a monthly backup and WD makes it easy with their scheduling software.

• Yes, but I would consider a SSD. On a laptop that age it will help with performance and give you more longevity from your laptop.
