Hello, Though these are over the ear, I would consider these open back headphones with the music can be heard when on. Thus, these probably do not block out all the noise from the environment. If you are needing complete noise blocking, then would recommend noise canceling headphones such as Bose and Sony. The price will be significantly higher though with not much sonic improvements. I hope that helps. Cheers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I agree with others -- not only is there NO cancellation, but the open back allows ambient noise to enter. This is good if you want to be able to hear your phone or the doorbell. But not so good if you want to block out everything but your music. One point -- my experience is that if you are playing the music loud enough to bleed out so someone maybe 8-10 feet away could notice, then you are probably doing some damage to your ears. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Sennheiser 558s have zero noise cancelation whatsoever and not much noise reduction at all. They're open ear headphones. If the volume of your music is low enough, you don't even have to take them off to talk to someone else in the room. If you need noise reduction or cancelation, do not buy these. They're designed for use in quieter environments.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not much external noise reduction. Try using them in a lowkey admisfer.
