“How can front controls be made more readable? be We can't read the front settings ("buttons") on our Sharp unless we get inches away -- - they are very dull thin white lines on a black backround. Our microwave is brand new - - can this panel be lighted or replaced with something readable?”

I had the same initial reaction and agree this part of the design could be improved. I discovered if I move my body to the side of the microwave instead of standing right in front of it, plenty of kitchen light gets to the display. Simple fix but works for me.
