- Answer Hello Jenn5517, this flush mount deflector vent is mandatory if you would like to install the Microwave flushed or in line with your cabinet. This goes below the Microwave, it helps with ventilation.

QuestionI'm looking at the Sharp KB6524PSY drawer microwave. I see trim kits and "vent deflectors" for other flush mounted microwaves. Do you sell either of these for this model and are they required? Pictures or diagrams would help if the answers are yes.

- Answer Hello Jack, we do not manufacture trim kits for drawer units, it is recommended that you hire an installer or a carpenter to create a cabinet to securely fit this unit with the aid of the installation manual. Please be advised that a deflector vent was not made for this model unit as it has its own way of ventilating. - Answer Hello, the flush mount deflector vent is an optional accessory. It is a thin sheet of metal that is placed at the front of the unit when installation is done and held in by two screws. It is used to direct air/steam from cabinets and only used when the unit is being installed flushed. If you require further assistance, please email us at [email protected].

QuestionMy Sharp MW SMD2470ASY installed in island. Not flush mount. Overlap (measure 'I') should be 22/23". Mine is 1/2". Steam is condensing on lower cabinet. Can I use the steam deflector somehow to stop this problem? My cabinet is getting ruined.

Questionit looks as if when the microwave is mounted flush with the cabinet face the tab for opening the flip down control panel would be obscured and you can no longer reach it to open the panel

- Answer Hey Bob I just read your question. I have the exact problem. Once the microwave is installed I’m not able to open it. Currently I put a piece of tape on the control panel using it as a tab to pull open. Let me know how you fixed your problem. There must be a solution.

QuestionInstalling a sharp microwave drawer with 3/4" thick cabinets. I added a cleat flush with the inside of the cab. to screw the MW to. This puts the cleat 3/4" recessed in the cabinet. The door is 1 1/4" deep thus the door sticks out 1/2". Is this correct?

- Answer Yes this is for the 24” model. You will need this if you want the microwave to be built in flush with the adjacent doors and drawers. It goes along the bottom front edge of the microwave space.

QuestionDoes flush mount mean when the MW facia is recessed into the cabinet opening so the front edge is flush with the plane of the cabinet? Do I need this product if the back edge of the MW facia is installed to be even with the plane of the cabinet instead?

- Answer Hello, flush mount means that the front or top of the unit sits flush or on the same plane as the surrounding cabinetry.
