A:AnswerI also have DirecTV. It took about 10 or 11 different tries before I found one that worked. Just keep going through the list. If that doesn't work, maybe DirecTV owes you some newer equipment. They gave me two year-old equipment when I connected and I'm sure they have better, more up to date stuff now.

A:Answermost, if not all, wall mounts come with an assortment of mounting hardware (screws and spacers). Just get one that is designed for at least a 58" tv and you should be set.
