• yes it does. On HDMI 1 under the Audio settings. Assign HDMI as Optical out.

• If you are using a sound bar yes use the optical out with a toslink cable and adjust the audio setting you have to watch some off the Best Buy special tvs made by sharp Samsung etc to see if you can turn the audio off

We apologize but this TV is not capable of outputting 5.1 audio through the ARC or Optical audio output. The audio system we would recommend for use with this TV is our HT-SB602 2.1 Sound Bar.
