A:AnswerNo. As long as you have a working antenna, the Sirius XM should be able to connect to the back of the radio. You can mount the XM unit on the dash or if you have a cubby hole under the radio it can hang these with the proper bracket kit.
A:AnswerNo, you will need to use the SiriusXM Connect Tuner - SXV300 to plug into your "SiriusXM-Ready" replacement radio. (Note that if your new radio really shows "XM-Ready" then you need to find an old XM Connect tuner system for your particular brand of radio - likely an eBay item.)
A:AnswerWhen I purchase mine it came with BestBuy GeekSquad Auto installation included. My installer did an amazing job.
Most everything remains behind dash. The unit connects via Aux Input 3.5mm. Installer used 3M Heavy Duty Dobble Stick Tape.
Installer is experienced and makes every one of my installs look easy!
I recommend using GeekSquad Auto Install
A:AnswerYes it comes with the car RF (radio frequency) adapter. Geek squad has all the antenna adapters for your car. Just buy and setup appointment. Installation should be included.
A:AnswerYes 100%.
You just need a 3.5mm to RCA male adapter. under $6.
Then plug RCA side to any input of receiver. PS if your home audio system has 3.5 audio input you will not need an adapter. However 98%sure you will have to buy the 3.5mm (male) to RCA (male) adapter.
A:Answerif you have installed a head unit this is easy depending on how you are going to mount it i used velcro to mount it below my head unit my radio mounting kit has a pocket under the radio with holes in the back of so did not even have to drill any holes
A:AnswerFirst yes. This will work seeing that it has its own separate antenna. Secondly I would see about correcting the original issue. Usually located under the driver's side dash is a thick 1/4 " wire. It's very noticeable. I would trace that wire to either the antennas source or it's location. Often the antenna will regress back into the body of the car, an animal may get ahold of the wiring, or a simple loose connection. I would look into option 3 because your reception is intermittent.
