    • Answer The manual states not to use on a mans face. A “man’s beard area is too dense” and “may result in skin injury.” It says women can use it on their face though.

    • Answer There are some precautions to take before and after tanning as this increases skin sensitivity (a little sun on your skin from being outside isn’t a problem!). After using SmoothSkin: - Your skin will be more sensitive directly after the treatment. - Wait at least 24 hours or until all redness has disappeared before you expose treated areas to the sun. - Cover treated areas when you go out into the sun or use a sunblock (*50 SPF) in the 48 hours after treatment.

    • Answer Hi there, Unfortunately, due to the way the technology works, IPL is not suitable to treat very dark skin, or Fitzpatrick skin tone VI. Very dark skin contains a high amount of pigment (melanin) and so will absorb more light, which, in extreme cases, can result in potential burns, discolouration or even scarring. SmoothSkin Bare+ is fitted with safety sensors to ensure that it won't fire on an unsuitable skin tone, but if you're unsure please check the skin tone chart on the From The Manufacturer section of this page.
