A:AnswerI do have one that I am trying to find enough sunlight. It needs several hours of sunlight in my opinion to keep battery 100% charged. You can always buy one and try it out. If it doesn't help, take it back. I would try as I do love these.
A:AnswerI can't imagine that the sunlight would be direct enough to power the solar panel. I have mine mounted flat on my roof because I did not want it to be noticeable and it gets only about 4 hours of sunlight but that has been enough to keep my camera charged at 100% . Have you thought about mounting it outside your window? One solar panel per camera so when you say several locations you would need several panels.
A:AnswerIt should. While I don’t have snow or ice where mine is installed, I do have heavy rain and fog and this stands up to those elements well. As far as clearing snow from it immediately, the unit will not work if the panel is covered and the snow keeps the sunlight out.
A:AnswerI'ts done in amperage not volts,it might be current draw from the battery, but the add on solar panel keeps the battery from draining, I'ts better than nothing?
A:AnswerFirst make sure there is one battery installed in the camera. Then you can check the status of the battery. If the panel is installed correctly and gets several hours of direct sunlight a day the battery level should always be on full charge. If there are cloudy days no worries as the battery can work up to a month on its own. So if you notice there is less than full charge give it a few days and check again. You should see it fully charged.
Mine has worked perfectly for over a year. I have never had to climb the ladder to change a battery. That is the main reason I got the panel. My other cameras are easily reached to change out batteries. I do like not even worrying about that one camera so I will be purchasing a few more panels.
A:AnswerTo the best of my knowledge no. The cable on one panel I purchased got caught in the garage door and it snapped. It is a simple two wire cable yet even after carefully repairing the cable it would not work. I do not recommend trying to extent the length of the cable.
