The power supplies for TVs do not really address all issues. For the period of AC in countries with 240V is 50Hz as opposed to 60Hz in US. If a low budget TV does not have its own blanking pulse generator and relies on the AC period to do so, it will not work like the laptops do in various input voltages and periods. I would suggest you call the technical department and state to them your intended usage of the set.
