  • QuestionDo I need an amplifier to run the system? Or does it include a Sonos amplifier?

    Asked by Roger.

    • Answer Hi, Thank you for your question. Yes, the Sonance MAG6.1 system does include a Sonos Amp in the package, so you do not need to purchase a separate amplifier to power the system. The package includes six satellite speakers, one in-ground subwoofer, and the Sonos Amp needed to run the complete system. I hope you found this information helpful. • QuestionHow far apart can I space the speakers ?

    Asked by Tony.

    • Answer Hi, Thank you for your question. For the best performance and most even sound coverage, we recommend spacing the Sonance MAG6.1 satellite speakers approximately 6 to 8 feet apart. The maximum recommended spacing is about 10 feet between satellites. Speaker placement may vary slightly depending on the layout of your yard and listening area, but staying within those guidelines will help create balanced, immersive outdoor sound coverage. • QuestionCan I add 2 additional speakers to a mag 6.1?

    Asked by Tony.

    • Answer Hi, Thank you for your question. We do not recommend adding additional speakers to the MAG6.1 system. The system is specifically designed and tuned to deliver optimal performance with the included speaker configuration. Adding extra speakers may create an impedance load that exceeds the limits of the Sonos Amp, which could lead to performance issues or potential damage to the amplifier. . If you need more coverage for a larger outdoor space, we recommend adding a second MAG6.1 system. For larger properties or applications that require even greater coverage and output, Sonance also offers the Sonance Garden Series system, designed for expanded outdoor areas and can support more speakers and larger subwoofers. I hope you found this information helpful. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to our California-based support team at 949-492-7777. • QuestionDo I need to buy speaker wire for all of these components?

    Asked by PoolZone26.

    • Answer Hi, Thank you for your question. Yes, speaker wire is required to connect the Sonance MAG6.1 system components together and back to the Sonos Amp. The system does not include speaker wire in the box, so you will need to purchase outdoor-rated direct burial speaker wire separately for installation. For most installations, we typically recommend: • 14/4 direct burial speaker wire for most installations • 12/4 direct burial speaker wire for longer wire runs Using 4-conductor wire is preferred because it allows the system to be wired with a single speaker wire run from the amplifier out to the landscape system, simplifying installation. • QuestionHow do the speakers charge

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi, Thank you for your question! The Sonance MAG6.1 landscape speaker system does not require charging. These are passive outdoor speakers, meaning they do not have built-in batteries. Instead, the system is powered by an external amplifier (typically a Sonos Amp), which sends power and audio to the speakers through a direct-burial speaker wire or optional wiring harness (sold separately). Once installed and connected to an amplifier, the system operates continuously without needing to be charged. I hope you found this information helpful. • QuestionGuardian hepa air clean systems model AC5350

    Asked by Anonymous.

  • QuestionWhat gauge speaker wire is required

    Asked by ME57.

    • Answer Hi, Thank you for your question! For the Sonance MAG6.1 system, we typically recommend using 14-gauge (14 AWG) direct burial–rated speaker wire for most installations. Here are some general guidelines: • Up to ~100 ft: 16 AWG is acceptable, but 14 AWG is preferred • 100–200 ft: 14 AWG recommended • 200+ ft: 12 AWG may be beneficial to minimize signal loss Since this is an outdoor system, be sure to use direct burial or outdoor-rated wire. I hope you found this information helpful. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to our California-based support team at 949-492-7777. • QuestionWhat if I do not connect the Sub-woofer in the center of the daisy chain and instead connect it at one end of it? Wil there be any difference in acoustics or any impact to the Sonos AMP's performance?

    Asked by Jickks.

    • Answer Hi, Thank you for your question. With the MAG6.1 system, the subwoofer doesn’t need to be placed in the exact center of the daisy chain. You can connect it at the end or at any point along the speaker-wire run without impacting the Sonos Amp’s performance. The system is designed to maintain proper impedance and operate safely in either configuration. For the best listening experience, we still recommend placing the subwoofer in a location that provides even bass coverage in your outdoor space; However, both wiring options work just fine. • QuestionHi, I'm not clear on something. The Sonos Amp manual states that it's not stable at 2 ohms. However, the 6.1 configuration you're proposing (3 speakers + 1 subwoofer, each 8 ohms in parallel) would result in a total of 2 ohms per channel. How is this poss

    Asked by Jpeyro.

    • Answer Hi, Thanks for the question. The MAG6.1 system uses six satellite speakers plus one subwoofer, and they are not 8-ohm speakers. Per the system’s design: The subwoofer is ~8 ohms up to the crossover point Each satellite is effectively ~16 ohms down to the crossover point, and three satellites in parallel on a channel work out to ~5.3 ohms. So, across the full frequency range, each channel ends up being an 8 ohm load at low frequencies, smoothly transitioning to a ~5.3 ohm load at mid and high frequencies, not 2 ohms. That’s why the MAG6.1 is stable and supported on a Sonos Amp when wired per the included instructions, the amp is not being asked to drive a true 2-ohm load. • Questionis there another mounting aplication for a lower reatining wall??

    Asked by try.

    • Answer Hi, Thank you for your question. Yes, the Sonance MAG 6.1 system has flexible mounting options beyond traditional ground stakes. For a lower retaining wall, many installers use the optional Round Surface Mount or Tree and Surface Mount. I’ve provided you with links to both options below. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/sonance-round-surface-mount-outdoor-speaker-mount-each-black/J78WL7SSZT https://www.bestbuy.com/product/sonance-tree-and-surface-mount-mount-for-landscape-series-garden-series-patio-series-outdoor-speakers-each-gray/J78WL7SSZV I hope you found this information helpful. • QuestionHi. Is the bottom portion of the amp to be buried with only the “mushroom " exposed, or is the top portion to be exposed only? TIA.

    Asked by ssgklr.

    • Answer Hi, Thank you for your question! The MAG 6.1 subwoofer is designed to be partially buried. When installing, dig a hole approximately 12 inches in diameter and 11 inches deep, and place the subwoofer so that about 5 inches of the enclosure remains above ground. The exposed “mushroom” top (bass port) should stay clear of soil, mulch, or debris to allow proper bass output. This installation method conceals the subwoofer while maintaining optimal acoustic performance. You can find a helpful diagram in the owner’s manual showing the recommended depth and orientation. • QuestionWhat is the spec for the speaker wire that I need?

    Asked by Cleveland.

    • Answer Hi, Thank you for your question. For the Sonance MAG6.1 system, we recommend using direct-burial rated speaker wire for outdoor installations. The gauge you’ll need depends on the length of the wire run: Up to 100 ft: 16-gauge wire 100–200 ft: 14-gauge wire Over 200 ft: 12-gauge wire This ensures the best performance and durability outdoors.
