You would have to buy a bridge if you don't have a wired connection where the speakers will go. The speakers actually automatically create a network among themselves and don't need to be connected to the Internet for this independent network. The connection to the Internet (your home network) is required for your smartphone, computer, and Etc to be able to control the system. One bridge connected to your network (via a cable) in the other room will be enough to support your entire system in your movie room (as long as the bridge isn't too far away to wirelessly connect with your speakers). Hope that helps. SONOS system is amazing!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just installed the playbar a month ago along with my two play1's. It does not need an Ethernet cable connected. It will work over the wifi. I would definitely get it over the bose.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My system is entirely wireless (after plugging in to power.). The instructions are as clear as can be. Plug in the Soundbar. Download the app. Ad whatever additional Songs speakers yo have, woofer and/or rear. It tells you when to add them and plug them in. Then the app calibrates the system. I am sure that you can start with the frontal bar, and the you can run the app again as you add additional components.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, all the speakers are wireless. No cables necessary. I have the Sonos 5:1 surround setup and everything is wireless. No need to use the Ethernet cable port.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The SONOS Playbar system is completely wireless I recommend getting SONOS Boost, it sets the system up on its own network and simplifies the setup.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was on the same boat, but I'm very glad to have Sonos, the Bose system is not even close, no even one cable, and you can add speakers in les then 5 minutes, the Sonos system is very friendly,
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The simple answer is that a small part of the SONOS system is wired. That is the Bridge/Boost controller. This creates your wireless network that SONOS uses with all its speakers. The soundbar, sub woofer are all wireless. To complete a 5.1 type setup, SONOS allows you to use the above items, plus 2 Play 1 speakers. The software will connect all four items into the 5.1 play back.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can. It used to be that you needed a Sonos bridge to make it work, but I have heard with the latest firmware update that you don't even need that anymore.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
