Yes...I have only the playbar (well only the playbar hooked to my tv, i have several other sonos components in the rest of my house) and it works amazingly better than the standard speakers on my tv (and I have a huge expensive tv). The playbar is used by itself...and bonus, the app allows you to mute louder sounds at night with the nighttime feature so if you're awake and the kid is asleep and you don't want to wake her, you can still listen to the voices and sounds at a similar volume without having your finger on the "trigger" to lower/raise the volume all the time. I can't wait to add the sub myself, but right now I only have playbar and I love it!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That's what I did. Just the playbar provided a drastic improvement over my TV speakers. The playbar has fairly decent amount of bass and packs a punch for its size. One of my favorite things about Sonos is the ability to expand the system and be continuously impressed with every purchase. Yes it is pricey but hey, you get what you paid for! NOTE: I found the playbar to sounded better at home than in the store!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Honestly I bought the soundboard alone and it doesn't have the deep lows of a subwoofer. I ended up just spending the money and buying the Bose Cinemate 130 it has an adapter for 99 that you can buy later to do the whole home sound system thing and they have nice outdoor speakers that are compatible as well. Just thought I would share my experience as I was like you and was going to start investing in Sonos and it's a great deal of money.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it is! You will love it. The Subwoofer will just give it that extra kick in the pants.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sound its good. My complaint is with the way it connectsto your phone. There is no remote for the bar. Every time someone uses it, it drains the battery on your phone. The app takes precedence over your other phone functions. If you want to adjust the volume on your galaxy 8, you turn down the tv.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it’s very good but make sure you get the sub way worth it I love it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I started out with just the playbar for 2 months and bass was surprisingly good but once I heard the sound I wAnted more. The sub is the best one I've ever owned. I have a huge living room like a 4 car garage and I'm surprised how much sound I got out of the playbar, might be fine alone in a small living room.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just did this. I'm moving from a complete 5.1 system and getting rid of all of the wires and speakers all over my living room. Yes, you'll be wanting more bass, but for $700 and it's clean design, you couldn't ask for more. This is an excellent speaker.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have done this in two rooms of my house and have been very happy with the sound quality!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think so. You don't really get the bass out of the soundboard but I wouldn't be disappointed without the sub for a little while.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
