“Compatable with Bose Acoustimass system? I have a 18 year old Bose home theater system hardwired in through the walls, and need a new receiver. Is it possible to use the Bose system with this receiver? I think the old receiver has the Bose speaker wires both into and out of it, instead of HDMI connections. Is there a way to make this work, or do I need to buy an older model receiver with enough speaker jacks?”

HDMI conections are designed to receive a/v signal from any device and one of them is to connect a TV to the Onkyo device. It can be perfectly hardwired with any bose speaker system, no matters how old it is. It has two front, two sorround, one center and two subwoofer outputs, plus a line output for a secondary zone. It may be more than you actually need =)
