“have Sony XBR65X750D hooked up to via ARC to the Sony Soundbar HTNT5 ARC. Turn TV on. message on Sound Bar HTNT5 displays "MUTING" we press mute on remote, now shows "TV" but no sound out of sound bar. happens 80% of the time. have to reboot. frustrated”

Depends on what you're trying to get sound out of. I know for my Xbox One I had to go from the ARC input on my tv, into the output on the soundbar and had to use the input from my soundbar into the output on my Xbox One to get sound.
