- Answer Instead of investing in a stereo system, I chose to invest in a high quality sound bar system to save space. My living area is not large so I didn't necessarily want volume, but I did want clarity. This does it very nicely. I could have purchased another Sony sound bar for half the price but it didn't sound as good. I also enjoy the bluetooth feature that lets me pair my iPhone's music. Super easy. And it rocks! I've also enjoyed how I'm able to select different pre-set sound levels for movies, sports, night viewing, music, etc.

QuestionI have connected the SRSZR5 surround speakers, they sound great but I notice that I have lost the ability to adjust sound fields on the sound bar, also the wireless subwoofer does not have that deep thump anymore when I am in surround sound, why

- Answer When in "surround sound mode," you no longer have the ability to adjust sound settings. Everything is optimized for multi-channel presentation (so you hear it how it was MEANT for you to hear it).

- Answer Hi there! It does not have a bass control. However, you may press SW (subwoofer volume) to adjust the volume of the subwoofer. -Jerome

QuestionWhen I try to set up my Sony Sound Bar (HT-NT5) to my Sony TV, I get an error message that the HDMI is not getting a signal. I have thr hdmi cord hooked up. Will I need an optical cable for this set up or will that interfere with my HD. Thanks

- Answer Controls can be confusing. I had the same problem I shut off tv and sound bar pulled out connections ( hdmi cables ) reconnected and turned back on. Everything worked fine. Don't know why it worked but it did. Hope it helps

QuestionPurchased a HTNT5 system this weekend on a open box deal. I did not receive a remote control or a instruction Manuel. Am I going to have problems setting this up with out a remote? I purchased a XBR X900E tv to go with it. I’m concerned about the remote

- Answer I too bought this open box and found without the instruction manual it's next to impossible to setup. Mine was also damaged and had a child's toy in the box. The description said excellent and a price sticker was on it showing a price $100 less than I was charged. I won't ever buy open box again. This is a good soundbar if bought new with all the extras and manual.

QuestionThe bar works well, but the remote control only works the volume and the home button. The other buttons do not show anything on the screen. . I have a samsung 4K 55'. Has anyone had this problem or what am I doing wrong.

QuestionHave had this soundbar a couple of months and just noticed it gets very hot on the bottom side. So hot you can't hardly touch it. This can't be normal can it?

- Answer Yes, it is normal, especially when playing sound at high volumes or for long periods of time. The owner's manual cautions you to not touch the bottom/back of it after or during operation. Additionally it cautions you to keep sufficient airflow behind/under the soundbar itself to help it keep from overheating. But to answer your question, that is normal; no worries!

QuestionSometimes my Sony XBR940E TV loses connectivity from the soundbar (both video & audio) when watching cable tv. I thought it might be my cable STB but I switched it out. I'm using high speed HDMI cables. It doesn't happen with my PS4 though. Whats wrong???

- Answer I'm still getting the same problem. I tried changing out HDMI cables. I changed cable providers from Spectrum to FIOS. I also changed the input from HDMI1 to HDMI3 hoping it would help but its still doing the same thing. It doesn't happen all the time, a few times/week. It says W.SUR on the display. Its as if the connection to the two SRS-ZR5 speakers might have something to do with it. All the software is updated on both the soundbar and wireless speakers. It usually happens when going to a commercial. It basically resets itself, goes to the home screen, then back to normal. Never happens with the PS4, only the cable STB.

QuestionI tried to see all updates for this device and failed to find any besides the recent in May or March of 2017. My questions are... Will the subwoofer work with the added rear speakers, can I buy a stand for the rear speakers, and get 7.1 surround some day?

- Answer Yes and yes. I have the two Sony satellite rear speakers and used generic stands from Best Buy. Work great with soundbar

- Answer Yes Sony SRS-ZR5 can be used for surround sound. 100% worked for me. You need to use user-manual to basically setup surround sound. Also go to the home->settings->surround sound setting; and adjust the level to 10db so that you will hear a relatively loud noise from rear speakers.

- Answer All I can tell you that this soundbar and woofer system works great. Installed by geek squad and no issues as of yet. Right now there was another price drop on this item. Act fast. There has been prior submissions for lack of volume. Mine is loud enough. Good luck!

- Answer Try going into the onscreen setup and running the tone test. If it won’t make any noise in there then you likely have a bad unit.
