QuestionOnly a 60HZ refresh rate?Is the lower refresh rate of 60HZ a drawback for motion especially watching sporting events? Should I consider getting the 240 HZ or is that not necessary for the smaller 40inch set? Thx Jim

- Answer 60Hz can be a drawback but in this case Sony seems to have overcome that as I have not noted any real concerns in that regard. That said I do not use it for gaming or as a primary TV. For gaming I have a TV with a much higher refresh rate and my home theater is where I watch movies and sporting events. Still I highly recommend the set. It has a great picture and good value.

- Answer Hi! This TV doesn't have much noticeable decrease in picture quality when viewed in different angles. For best viewing experience, we recommend viewing it less than 20 degrees. -Anthony

- Answer Yes, this Sony has it all: YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Sony Movie, Crackle, etc. Almost has as much as my XBOX 360!

- Answer This is more of a matt screen, not reflective, which was another requirement of mine, and it is perfect. feature rich non reflective, ease of use beautiful picture quality, have gotten a lot of compliments on the quality and the features of this TV.

- Answer yes the TV will have either a headphone output or an analog audio output which will connect to Sony wireless headphones which are sold at best buy for $109 they also come with the cabling necessary

- Answer yes i have mine wall mounted, it even comes with a flat wall mount but i suggest a better one as you cant adjust the tv angle with the one that came with it.

QuestionHow do I access the registration code to use apps like Netflix?I got this new TV two days ago and I've been having trouble trying to find my registration code to sign onto Sony Essentials to use Netflix ever since.. Very frustrating.

- Answer You shouldn't have to sign in to Sony, I didn't. Just select Netflix from the menu and then sign in to Netflix with your account info when prompted.

QuestionHow good is the over-the-air broadcast TV reception?I know this is a subjective question, but I live in a fringe area and need to know how good the tuner is at pulling a weak OTA broadcast signal.

- Answer Over the air reception is excellent compared to all other receivers we have; 2-RCA set top tuner, ATI PC card tuner, and Sanyo TV. We're about 35-50 miles from towers for Montgomery, AL (to the west) and Columbus, GA (to the east) and receive all area stations. Our roof-mounted antenna just lost its rotation ability, but this TV picks us all stations from the front and rear of our large UHF directional antenna. Other receivers don't do it nearly as reliably. On the mast, we also have an omnidirectional FM element that picks up two remaining VHF stations. None of the receivers including this TV work reliably until we get the rotator fixes.

QuestionHow to connect TV to analog receiver?I tried using a digital optical audio cable to connect TV's audio output to a DAC and then into my old analog stereo receiver and speakers. No sound no matter how I change the settings on the TV. I also have a Bravia Blu-Ray hooked up to the TV, by the way. Headphone jack output on TV hooks up to the receiver just fine, but I would prefer to use the DAC and get better sound. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

- Answer Hello DY! In order to be able to get sound our from the Optical audio output of your unit it will be necessary to make sure that the following settings aer set as follows: Press the HOME button ? Settings ?Sound ? Speakers ? Audio System; under sound settings select Headphone/Audio Out ? Audio Out and also under the Audio Out in the sound setting menu ? Fixed. If in use of a Digital Audio Converter we cannot guarantee that it will be capable of converting the signal Digital to Analog it is recommend to test the DAC with another source since a direct connection from the television to a receiver will provide sound with no issue.~ Jeannette

QuestionMotion BlurAlthough it claims to have a faster refresh rate (Motionflow 240), Consumer Reports tests indicate the TV's motion-blur performance is typical of a 60Hz set. Further, they say though it claims to have a higher frame rate than 60Hz, a feature designed to reduce motion blur, it "could not be found in the menu". What gives? Thanks!

- Answer The Motion Enhancer feature is available with the KDL-W series. Motion Enhancer is not available when Game Mode is set to On. Cinemotion automatically detects film-based content and applies an inverse 3-2 pull-down process and a motion estimation engine to improve film content and de-interlacing performance. Game mode optimizes for video games. All of these features are available under the Picture Settings menu.
