Hi Ken, whe we plug the headphone the TV speaker will cut off. However you can change the TV setting in order to get sound from both headphone and TV speaker via headphone speaker link. To be able to output sound through headphones and the TV speakers at the same time follow the steps below:

Connect the headphones to the headphone jack on your TV.
1. Press the HOME button.
2. Select SETTINGS.
3. Select SOUND Settings.
4. Select HEADPHONE SPEAKER LINK.
5. Select TV Speakers On.
You can also adjust the volume of the headphone according to your desired level. Regards, ~Erin
