“I just purchased one of these T.V. yesterday. Why does it have a HUGE A.C. adapter power Cord? I see some Sony T.V. s do and some don't. Don't care for the big adapter box, why dosen't it have a regular cord on it??? Thanks”

leds which this and many tvs have only run on direct current rather than ac current. The converter ac to dc generates an electric field which can cause interference with electronics, requires cooling, is heavy and may eventually burn out or get damaged from ac noise spikes. Better to replace an adapter than a whole tv.
