According to the manual the player will play music on a USB device if the files are of the type; MP3: file extension .mp3 WMA: file extension .wma AAC: file extension .m4a, .mp4, or .3gp Note that even when file names have the above extensions, if the actual file formats differ, playing these files may generate a loud noise which could damage the speaker system and the player may malfunction. Files with DRM (Digital Rights Management ) copywright protection cannot be played back on this player. Files downloaded from an online music store may also not be playable on this player.
