Skype capability was eliminated this year. Unless they decide to make an android update that allows the tv to work with Skype from the google play store, it currently isn't available. The reason is because Sony's research showed that no one was really using Skype on last year's models, so instead of focusing on that this year, they simply took it out of the equation. From my understanding, Samsung has done this too with their new models.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I eventually got a hold of Sony's customer service and the answer is actually a little convoluted. You CAN download SKYPE from the google store, however the optional Sony web camera doesn't work on the Android o/s which pretty much negates using SKYPE. The rep said that Sony is working on a new camera that is Android compatible and will be available in a "few months". I was also told that a regular web cam will not work either (although I haven't tested this). So, yes you can download SKYPE but it's pretty much useless until there a compatible camera to go with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You'll have to add your own camera and download Skype from the Google play store.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't appear to have Skype capability. There's no camera (the 850B had this, the 800B did not.) You can't even load the Skype app from the Google Play store.
