• The USB port is for the IR blaster for controlling your satellite or cable box, works good as I am using it on my TV. I would recommend you check your box to make sure you do not toss it....costs $80 to order if you need to replace it!

• It's the IR blaster for remote controls of other items that you connect to TV. Search IR blaster on Google and will find the info you are looking for.
