The external bezel is much much better. The 850c also has the x1 processor as well as the triluminous color and hdr. After we got it setup we are totally satified. The extra $200 is a complete no brainer. Spend it and you will not have to upgrade again for over a 5 year period and maybe longer if it lasts longer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 810C does not have HDR, 3D or the new extended color gamut. However, it has a lower lag time and is better for sports and gaming than the 850C. It is a highly rated tv. I am not sure about its compliance to HDMI and HDCP 2.2 standards? You can check out their ratings at rtings.com.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Although the 810C is indeed a 4K TV, it doesn't have 3D features. 3D TVs usually have a smoother motion clarity added to the refresh rate which produces a different picture than TVs that do not have 3D features

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sony XBR X850C has wide color gamut ( Sony Triluminos ) and HDR (high dynamic range ) support and 10 bit DCI and bt 2020 color modes above the 8 bit bt 709 color space in non HDR bt709 sets like the X810C. IMO X850C it comes with better build quality and a thinner bezel and a touch remote . OTOH for a bt 709 set ( no WCG Triluminos or HDR ) the Sony X810C's are real decent and should handily beat out the competition at the price . Presumably the XBR 55X850C has a 10 bit panel or an 8 bit > frc dither to 10 bit panel , they both can make 10B colors as opposed to ~2B colors on an HDTV 8 bit panel in addition to the Sony wide color gamut Triluminos aka nanocrystals in the X850C models ^^^^That will be good for the enhanced color modes on current content and DCI theater color and bt2020 HDR color . FWIW on my PC the panel in my 55X850C shows up as a 10 bit panel .
