Can the stand height be extended up vertically null

Depending on how much work you want to do and how much you want to pay, anything is possible. If all you need is a modest height increase of a half inch or so, then remove the stand and drill and tap new holes in the vertical bars that insert into the television. Please note that increasing the height of the television by modifying the factory stand will exacerbate an already unstable situation with this TV! A much better solution and one that I will implement is simply making a wooden box to elevate the set to the desired height. This need not be fancy and can be assembled with as few as three boards. Just make sure the horizontal piece rests on the two verticals for gravity defying support. Additional box bracing is recommended for elevation increases above four inches!
