A:Answer UPDATE: Regarding the mouse, i later found that the reason the mouse was not responding was simply that the USB Port #2 where the mouse’s transceiver was plugged in, was hidden behind the screen. I used a short usb extension cable from that usb port to reposition the mouse’s transceiver to where it was in a direct line facing the mouse, and VOILA! The mouse came alive. Oddly, and luckily, this problem didn’t happen with the keyboard, whose transceiver was plugged into the TV’s USB port #1, also behind the screen, yet worked just fine.
