It is edge lit, very good edge lit however, if the 900 had more zones in the full array then that would be better but as it stands the 930 is a bit better.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is unlike any edge-lit TV before or since. It's a very sophisticated edge-lit which acts more like a full array. Comparing the 930e vs 900e, the 930e is better in about every way. Some say the color accuracy is better on the 900e but I prefer the high nit HDR/SDR color popping out. This is truly one of a kind TV. Sony seems interested in OLED now so I am not sure they will ever innovate like this again for LCD TVs.

There are other brands to consider over these Sony's. Android TV is slow and frustrating and streaming HDR content on Netflix and Amazon leave a lot to be desired.
