Hi Ozzier, Thank you for showing your interest with our X80J series. You can place the TV in a covered patio as long as the screen is not exposed to direct illumination or sunlight to get the best picture quality. The TV is intended to be operated indoors. Exposing the TV to rain or moisture, direct illumination, or sunlight may cause damage. For safety reasons and to prevent the TV from malfunctioning its recommended operating temperature is: 0 ºC – 40 ºC / 32˚F - 104˚F. Hope this information helps! - Kris
