A:AnswerHi Bugman523, losing 2 1/2 inches of the picture really doesn't affect anything. When it comes to which TV is better, it will still depend on your viewing preference. These models almost share the same specification except for the backlight type used. For 690 series it uses Direct LED while the 720 uses Edge LED. To further guide you in which TV to choose, please check the comparison of these models here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/tv/t/televisions?view=compare.

A:AnswerBuy a Roku. This TV has a great screen for the money but you should upgrade the application support by using an external streaming device like a Roku Ultra.
BTW: I would say always use an external steaming device as opposed to the applications on a smart TV.
A:AnswerHi Hank, You can use either of these. If you need more details, you may check this page: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4696/46967210M.pdf

A:AnswerHello Heyhey, thanks for bringing this up. This is a normal operation of the TV. Every time you change the channel, the TV is adjusting the signal coming from the cable box to the TV for the best quality display possibly. This usually happens specially if you are receiving digital signals. However, if the issue persists, you may try to troubleshoot the TV. Kindly visit the helpful links below:

A:AnswerI bought a Samsung and the mid-range was terrible. Gonna be honest. I bought this Sony home and mid range was great just as picture and everything else was. I'd put this Sony I bought up against many of the higher priced 4K tv's in the store. And they have been calibrated. This tv came out of the box and we hooked up and got our DTV, Blu-ray and Roku stick hooked up; then turned it on. We couldn't believe how beautiful the picture was on this tv. I figured I would have to do some fine tuning on a few things. But I didn't have to touch anything. And we have been watching Shark Week on it today and it's like you are right in the water with some of these divers.
