This is also an IPS panel (one of the few that Sony manufactures)..not necessarily a bad thing as it has a wide viewing angle, and as long as you watch with some lights on the lower contrast won't be very noticeable. If watching in total darkness, the blacks will appear a bit grayish.
because then it would cost more and the 800 series is the Sony entry level model now.
