I'm not sure of this, but the Galaxy s5 might be whats considered an MHL Deive. if this is the case follow these steps. This allows you to turn the function that automatically switches input to the MHL device input on or off when the MHL device is played. 1. Select [Settings] - [HDMI Settings] from the home menu. 2. Select [MHL Auto Input]. 3. Select [On] or [Off].
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi: First suggestion would be to read the instruction book to see if there are any clues. Second, did you get any Geek squad protection? If so, CALL THEM. They were fantastic when they set up my new 60" TV and this same receiver along with Blu-ray DVD player, turntable, DirectV box, 6 channel CD changer and all my surround sound speakers. At first, there was no sound when I used the turntable. I called the Geeks and it was as simple as flipping a switch. Even if you don't have the protection, go there or call them, they may be able to help you. If not, call the Sony customer service number. I hope you get things going. I doubt there's anything 'funny' going on with Sony as I've been using their products for several years and have never had any problems. Good Luck !
