“can I use this receiver with a BOSE acoustimass-5 system? BOSE manual says its compatible with those rated from 4-8 ohms. I need 10 to 200 watts per channel. i see discussion here that I'd be better off using a receiver with higher impedance.”

I have an older Acoustimass 16 series system that uses 400 watts. My system is power hungry but I have had no trouble with power fluctuations or compadability issues. I have used it for a couple months now listening to music and as a home theatre system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Kirsten, based on the specifications of your speakers, they will work fine with this receiver. This unit requires speakers with an impedance rating of 6-16ohms, and it has 145 watts per channel (145W x 7 @ 6 ohms, 1kHz, 0.9% THD). Thanks, -Mark
