“How do I set this up for multiple devices so it does not shut off with "protector" warning? After several combinations of setups the system pops and shuts off. I cannot get back to the setup screen as there is no " menu" choice on the screen or remotc.”

Beverly, It appears to be a defect in the Sony Receivers in this series. After working with Sony tech support yesterday they told be it was faulty take it back to the store.
