QuestionDoes this amplifier have an HDMI PORT?

- Answer Yes. It has 4 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. For example, I use all 4 inputs: My cable box, a Blu-ray DVD player, a WD TV steaming player, and a regular DVD/CD player. I use the one HDMI output to connect to my HD television. You can use the remote to switch between inputs.

QuestionI want to hook up 4 outdoor speakers the are all the same polk patio 200 speakers , what is the best way to hook them up ? should i wire all to the front out puts? Or which other out puts for the best non-surround sound set up?

QuestionCan I use a wireless subwoofer on this system? I am bit confused on the type of subwoofer I should be using. Does it have to be active? Will a passive sub work?

QuestionHave this receiver hooked up with a Harmon/kardon speaker set up. No sound out of the subwoofer which is a powered woofer. I’m assuming I need to set the speakers to small to send the lpf to the subwoofer. Any idea on how to do that on the dh550?

QuestionI am just using this as a stereo...I have 4 speakers hooked up..2 to front channel and 2 to surround or rear channel...my question is how do I get sound from rear or surround playing music thru USB? I am only getting sound from the front..

- Answer Don't see why not I hooked my JVC speakers through it, my only problem was my old subwoofer was regular speaker wires, the Sony you have to have a male jack. Went back and just by chance the Sony subwoofer was at half price. Works great! Hope this helps.

Questioncan I use this receiver with a BOSE acoustimass-5 system? BOSE manual says its compatible with those rated from 4-8 ohms. I need 10 to 200 watts per channel. i see discussion here that I'd be better off using a receiver with higher impedance.

- Answer I have an older Acoustimass 16 series system that uses 400 watts. My system is power hungry but I have had no trouble with power fluctuations or compadability issues. I have used it for a couple months now listening to music and as a home theatre system.

- Answer This IS an amplifier - you could use it outside of your TV if you wanted. Its advantage is that you can take the signal from your DVD player and run it through this amp to power better speakers, then return the signal to your tv screen for the video. There is some problem with taking signals from old VCR players via component audio cables, but the regular DVD cables work great. if you just want to use it for a CD player output, that works great, too. There is no equalizer function.

- Answer 100W fronts, get a decent center channel (clarity is important), and good bookshelf speakers for your rears. To make it all pop, get a subwoofer. It'll make everything come alive. The larger the sub, the deeper the sound it can produce. It's very simple, the larger cone can produce the deeper sound waves. And make sure it's a powered sub. If price is a major concern, Craigslist is your friend.
