QuestionI bought this receiver for my home theater and only have 4 in ceiling speakers currently working. What do you recommend for a center speaker under my TV set and I also need a recommendation for a sub woofer. Thanks for your advice in advance.

QuestionCan I get sound to come through the TV speakers only? There are times when surround sound is a little distracting. My old Denon allowed me to turn down the Surround sound and use only the TV sound. Is that possible with this receiver?

- Answer I purchased the receiver mainly for surround sound. The receiver comes with a small microphone that you plugged into the front of the receiver to setup all speakers that are hooked up to the receiver. My speakers are hardwired and are not wireless. I would think this receiver would accommodate wireless speakers.

QuestionWill this receiver work without a TV hookup?

- Answer Yes. Just don't expect the audio flexibility of a stereo receiver as this unit has no 'contour' button that raises the bass and treble output in addition to the 'bass' and 'treble' knobs of a stereo receiver. You have to go in and find the 'equalizer' in the menu (remote-controlled bass and treble only; no mid-range adjustments available) and adjust it that way. Good luck.

- Answer I assume your speakers are rated at 8 ohms. The receiver puts out 108.75 w/ch @ 8 ohms, so you MAY damage the amp if you run your speakers at very high volumes for great lengths of time, but I think the amplifier's clipping might cause you to rethink doing so.

- Answer Not sure about the high def radio channels , I bought a blue tooth adapter , and play music from my phone . And it works great with my already set up speaker system .. hope this helps , thanks

- Answer I can’t answer this 100% but my advice would be to check Sony and Klipsch websites for spec sheets on the specific models and see what both ratings are. If it’s pushing the receiver or speakers to the max I would consider going bigger or smaller on the receiver. Sony’s customer service was great to work with when I had a 4K HDR question for them. Maybe give that a shot. Hope this helps!!
