“can tv be connected wirelessly or dose it need lan for 4k to be active connected to direct tv hr 54 receiver and i dont get the 4k icon up to select movies. I went into the apps on the tv and select the direct tv ready app and it is telling me to connect via lan. I am currently connected via wireless. Does this have to be connected to lan in order to get 4 k icon. My internet modem is located in another room and really want to run a lan wire arcoss the house if i dont have to”

As part of the provider requirements to be able to access the available content through the DIRECTV Ready feature it is necessary to have an Ethernet connection, if your router is not reachable in order to make a physical connection it is possible to use either a powerline adapter or a wireless bridge.
