As far as my research has led me, this TV will not be a "true" HDR set. True HDR sets will come with a badge from the UHD alliance who has set a standard for TVs. Also, there are apparently 2 types of HDR codecsand some are not supported by different TVs and are being push by different studios.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will although this tv will not be an optimal set for hdr material do to it does not have local dimming. Their is still no standard for what is gonna be required for hdr so in turn trying to determine exactly what will be required as far as the HDMI inputs is still a mystery. But sony is including the 850c series of their tv's to get the update to display hdr content. Its supposed to be this fall sometime.
