“Player not reading data dvds I have some home movies on dvd that played great on my old dvd player. There not reading or playing on this player. Is it broke? Please Help!”

you might want to check in what format you made the home movies on. See if it is accessible on the Blu-Ray player

I have this same player and have had no trouble with it. Perhaps you need to update it. Go to page 12 in the Simple Manual and follow the directions in Software Update. If you need to use USB memory be sure to use the URL specified there. It is http://www.sony.com/bluraysupport/
