- Answer Yes, as long as it can convert the video signal in whatever converter you have it will work. I hooked up with a DVI input monitor to test on another device and worked no problems. Specifics beyond are depending on your device, cables and conversion kit

- Answer It plays blu ray I know, dvd I think, but I didn't check. It doesn't play 4k movies- I bought one thinking it would, but it wouldn't play them. I ended up returning it, and getting an Xbox One S for that. (Plus, it will be compatible with the Oculus Rift this year.) Hope this helps.

QuestionDoes this item play 4k discs or just upscales blu ray?

- Answer It will not play 4K discs. But does upscale Blue-Ray and standard DVD's. And it does make a difference in picture quality only if you have proper speed HDMI cables and a 4K TV to view it. If TV is not 4K, you will notice nothing different than what a standard Blue-Ray player offers.

- Answer Yes this one does. As soon as I turn on DVD player, the TV image shifts to the DVD player home screen irrespective of what other streaming player or channel I was watching.
