“Can’t get my recorder to turn on. I have changed the batteries and cleaned the battery compartment - still won’t work. 1) does anyone have any other ideas 2) if I manage to fix the issues does anyone know if my recordings will still be there?!”

Hold the on/off slide-type button on the left side until the light comes on, then select 'Record', etc. There is a brochure included in the package with operating instructions & diagrams of the recorder. The machine holds recordings after turning the recorder off then on, so the numbered recordings probably will be on the machine when you push the re-play button.
