- Answer Hi there, thank you so much for your inquiry! If your speakers support bare wire connection, yes, you can connect it to the speaker in terminal of the subwoofer. QuestionTheses speakers have their own on and off button. Can I just leave the speakers on when not in use and not damage the speakers or do I have to continue to turn them on and off every time I turn my TV on and off ?

- Answer Hi Tommy, thank you so much for your inquiry. Yes, it is safe to leave the speaker on. When the power-saving mode is on, the subwoofer will turn off automatically if there is no signal input for a few minutes and turns itself on automatically once it receives a signal. QuestionOn the back of this subwoofer there is a knob labeled "Cut off Frequency" that goes from 50hz - 200hz. Does this knob move on a linear or logarithmic path? In other words, does setting this halfway = 125hz?

- Answer Compatible with any receiver that has a subwoofer input. Or using the a digital input. I bought this Subwoofer to replace the PLASTIC speaker cabinet and 6 inch speaker enclosed. This difference was noticeable as soon as I turned on my TV w 5.1 Sony Surround system that I bought 10 years ago. I actually had to turn down the level because the rumble shook my walls. Even turned down to 2/3 capability it exceeds any expectation I had.

- Answer I have the volume at 50%. I do not have the power save activated ( I have a power strip that slaves the subwoofer power to the receiver, so when I shut off the receiver, the power to the subwoofer goes off.) Frequency at 200. Phase set at normal.

For this, please check that this subwoofer and components are connected correctly and securely. Turn LEVEL clockwise to turn the volume up. Reset the level. You may also check and run Auto Calibration on the STRDH590 or select the correct speaker pattern. - Answer That is very unusual, make sure the volume knob on the back of your sub is up to around half way at least . If your receiver is a new one and you had not fiddled with the sound setup, it should definitely be putting a signal to the sub itself. After adjusting the volume knob on your sub and you still get no sound - go into you receiver settings to locate a sub channel setting for increase/decreasing levels. I'd find it very unlikely this would be set see if that is the culprit.

- Answer Yes. This sub has an input jack as well as speaker level inputs. This is a powered sub, so it will have to be plugged into a wall outlet. Also you will have to run auto setup or select SWFR (per the YSP4000 owners manual instructions) on the YSP4000 to be able to listen with this sub or any sub while using the subwoofer out put jack.
