QuestionCan this subwoofer be placed on its side instead of upright? It's front-firing, so I'm thinking it will be OK to place it on its side. (It won't fit in my A/V center when upright.)

- Answer I bought two of these subs and they might be my most disappointing electronic purchase ever. So IMO, don’t waste your time finding out if they will work with your system. Move on to a different brand.

- Answer In my experience it wouldn’t matter if it was compatible with your sound bar or not because I bought two of them and they sound so horrible, I deeply regret not returning them within the 30 days.

- Answer This subwoofer does not require an amplifier because it is built-in but my experience with this subwoofer has been so profoundly disappointing, I would return it if I were you.

QuestionI tried unsuccessfully to connect this subwoofer to my sony A8H OLED smart TV directly via the headphone jack with a 3.5mm mono Y adapter via the headphone jack to no avail. Thought this could be connected directly without a receiver. What am I missing?

- Answer If sound is being emitted through sources other than the headphone jack while you’re attempting this, the television may be disabling the headphone output. It might be worth digging through the TV’s manual and through the settings to determine if this is in fact the case, and if it can be overridden. Plug in wired headphones and verify. Otherwise, assuming there is a signal present at the headphone jack, the subwoofer’s built in low pass filter should eliminate the undesirable higher frequencies allowing you to hear the bass you’re presumably seeking.

- Answer Hi Don, thank you so much for your inquiry. Yes, you can install the subwoofer wherever you like in your room. To obtain a better bass reproduction, we recommend you install the subwoofer on a solid floor where the resonance is unlikely to occur. Please also note the following: Do not place the speakers in locations that are: • Extremely hot or cold • Dusty or dirty • Very humid • Subject to vibrations • Subject to direct sunlight • Near magnetic cards (credit cards, commuter passes, etc.) Magnetic cards may fail due to the magnets in the speaker units. • Near televisions The speakers are not magnetically shielded. Therefore, if you use the speakers near CRT-based televisions, color shading occurs on the television screen. • Good ventilation is essential to prevent internal heat build-up in the subwoofer. Place the subwoofer in a location with adequate air circulation. Do not place the subwoofer on a soft surface or too close to a wall as this may obstruct the ventilation hole on the back. - Answer Hello KenR, Thank you so much for your question. We are not sure what brand/model of receiver/amplifier you have. However, if it has a special jack for a subwoofer (like a MONO OUT jack, MIX OUT jack, SUBWOOFER jack, or SUPER WOOFER jack), then yes, you can add this subwoofer to your current setup by connecting the LINE IN jack of this subwoofer to one of those jacks using the supplied audio connecting cord. - Answer Yes, it will hook up with one RCA connection and the pass-through to your mini surround speakers will not have any power robbed from them by the sub. Having said that, I would look elsewhere. I bought two of them and they are profoundly disappointing compared to every other subwoofer I’ve ever heard.

If your Onkyo HT-R593 Receiver has a special jack for an active subwoofer (like a MONO OUT jack, MIX OUT jack, SUBWOOFER jack, or SUPER WOOFER jack), then yes, you can use this subwoofer as a replacement subwoofer by connect the LINE IN jack of our SA-CS9 to one of those jacks using its supplied audio connecting cord.
