“Is this model available at any camera store, including Best Buy, between Raleigh, NC, & Washington, DC, & Frederick, MD, & Charlottesville, VA? Given its heft compared to the RX10 II and other bridge cameras, I really need to hold it and test ergonomics.”

your decision to want to hold and heft it is a good one. I did that, and found it was larger and heavier enough, and more awkward enough, for me to stick with the rx10 ii.
