• I just purchased a 55mm UV filter that fits fine on my HX 300 lens.

• Like a first answer I'm also bought 55 mm UV filter and tread it in lens - fits absolutely perfect . Now I have protected lens and improve my photos quality. Probably SONY means previous similar models with the different lens ends.

• I own an HS-9 Sony and at that time, Sony included a lens hood. I don't know if that same hood would fit this model so ask Sony if it could...
