Q: QuestionHow well will these work with reverse slope hearing loss (RSHL) or low frequency hearing loss?
Asked by JoJo.
- A:Answer Hi JoJo! Sony OTC hearing aids are appropriate for adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. Our OTC devices are self-fitting and include a hearing profile check that will allow devices to be configured for your unique hearing needs. There are slight differences between the products, but in your case, we encourage you to try our E10 devices for likely best benefit. Regards, Erin

Q: QuestionI have long thick hair. I’m experiencing a lot of highly irritating scratching noise while wearing my over the ear hearing aids, even when my hair is pulled up or back. How do these hearing aids do with long think hair?
Asked by NLDS.
- A:Answer Hi NLDS, thanks for your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your hearing aids are causing a scratching noise when you wear them. For those with long or thick hair, the scratching noise often experienced with behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids due to hair brushing against exposed microphones is a common concern. In contrast, in-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids like the C10 and C20 generally offer an advantage for reducing this type of hair-related noise. Because their microphones are more discreetly tucked inside the ear canal, they are largely protected from hair contact, which can minimize or avoid the irritating scratching sounds common with BTE styles. If hair noise is a primary issue, C10 or C20 devices might be a more suitable option. Thank you for being a valued Sony customer and for letting us know about this issue. Regards, Estefany
