• Yes it does play the SACD layer. I have a non- hybrid disc that plays perfectly on it.

• Yes it does, I have played Dark side of the moon SACD in all modes, you can choose multi channel or 2 channel SACD (DSD) playback in the menu or you can also choose to play the regular cd audio. The sound quality is many times higher in SACD mode. This player loads up everything very fast, very happy with this unit!
