If not how do you connect straight to a burner for transfer? 2) Is the DCR-SR68 compatable with a MAC if not is there software that will allow it work with a MAC?”

A dock is not required, simply connect directly to the AV port with the supplied AV cable. (see the below Illustration) The supplied software “PMB” is not supported by Macintosh computers.
